No Struggle, No Progress
The more I am intentional about growing my relationship with God the more revelation is revealed. I love this because it’s a true reminder that there’s always something new and interesting to learn. A person can read scripture one time and get one thing
The Bible is filled with instruction and stores. In Exodus, God gave us Ten Commandments to live by. One was, “Honor your father and mother” — which is the first commandment with a promise — “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” found in (Ephesians 6:2-3 NIV.
I love that the writers of the Bible doubled down on the instructions of God. It is also an explanation of why it’s so important.
This commandment is especially important nowadays. It seems the more evolved we become as a society the more traditional things we need become farther from us.
We honor our parents and elders because they are our first point of contact in this world. In term we learn how to treat people and how to live a Christian life from them. Their help is given to us to be a guide, so it’s important to be respectful.
Practicing the Ten Commandments especially this one creates favor from God. The more you practice the better you can serve God.
I pray that everyone remembers the importance of respecting and honoring their elders. Goodness goes to those who honor God, themselves and others.
