Gloria Willis Walker70, of Monroe, LA gained her wings Friday, May 26, 2023 peacefully at her home with her daughter. Gloria Willis Walker was born to Henry and Odell Willis December 31, 1952, in Rayville, LA. She is the second of six children. Affectionately known as "GW" she was reared and educated in Monroe, LA. She graduated from Richwood High School Class of 1970. She was employed at South Central Bell as a telephone operator for 10 years. She later migrated into the Monroe City School System where she took on many titles. As a lifelong member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Monroe LA, she served as a Deaconess. Mrs. Walker put God first in her life. She devoted her time to family, church, children, and the community. She is survived by her mother O'Dell Willis, her children Karondalyn Walker, Kalonda Carmouche (Lionel) Yolanda Kennon, James Ray Willis, and Roderic Willis. Grandchildren, Kobe Carmouche and Pariss Willis. Siblings, Larry Willis, Donecia Willis, Ferrial Willis, and Ricky Willis. A host of nieces and nephews that she reared-Broderick Murphy, Jamika Willis, Richard Williams, Rha'jeun Logwood, and Shaniece Willis. She was preceded in death by her father Henry Willis and brother Tommy Ray Robinson. Floral arrangements can be sent to Smith Funeral Home, 907 Winnsboro Rd. Monroe, LA. Funeral services will be at 11am Saturday June 3, 2023, at Liberty Christian Center, 3220 US-165, Monroe, LA,. Rev. Dr. Feeoptris Strickland will officiate. Burial will be at Richwood Memorial Gardens, 2705 Richwood Rd 2, in Richwood . Visitation will be from 2-6 pm Friday June 2, 2023 at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, at 709 S 13th St.in Monroe, LA..
