No Struggle, No Progress

Hit-Run Victim Survives

A female pedestrian who people that frequent the Ticheli/Standifer/Burg Jones Lane area, said that the individual was involved in a hit-run incident on 5/19/2023. According to sources, a call for emergency services was made at about 11:39 p.m. when the female’s body was discovered on Ticheli Road near Lynn Street in Monroe LA. According to witnesses, an ambulance soon arrived with officers from the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office to render aid. After rendering aid to the victim, witnesses said that Jackie M. Blanson was transported to a local hospital for treatment. They said that it was determined that the Blanson was a victim of a hit and run, as there was no one at the scene to claim responsibility for the accident.

As The Dispatch went to press, witnesses say that the victim has been released from the hospital, as she has been seen in the area since the accident. The victim was said to have had pins in her foot and legs. But residents that live and go from place to place in the area are increasingly concerned for their safety when walking. On Ticheli Road and many other passageways, the streets are very narrow with little to no walkways for pedestrians. There are ditches alongside the streets where an individual would have to walk alongside the ditch, almost walking in it just to avoid being hit by a vehicle. There is also the issue of no lighting on the streets, making it extremely difficult for drivers and pedestrians in the area. We can only hope/pray that there won’t be any more incidents that may occur, as the next time may result in a loss of life.
