Shooting Teen Dead

Disclaimer: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Another young Black man has lost his life to a violent act; these violent acts are happening more and more frequently, so swiftly those involved cannot see how every second of life is precious. It only takes a second for a gun to be produced and a life to be taken away. The tragic turn of events happened on Monday, April 17, 2023, in the Robinson Place neighborhood. Monroe Police responded to a shooting call on Long Drive to find a victim from the shooting on the ground. The unidentified (as of press time) 17-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. MPD said the victim did not survive the shooting and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The alleged suspect was identified, as officers went and secured an arrest. The alleged shooter was also said to be a 17-year-old. The teen was arrested for Second Degree Murder. He was transported and booked at the Green Oaks Detention Center. There is a B.A.L.M. in Monroe is a spiritual solution to a social problem.
