No Struggle, No Progress

Deadly Crash

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, a life can be gone. At an unknown moment, we will transition from living and breathing to closing our eyes for the last time. There is much grief in the air as the community comes to grips with the loss of three beautiful young Black women who tragically lost their lives on Thursday, April 6, 2023 in an automobile accident. The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's office said that 23-year-old Kierra McCraw, 24-year-old Annesha Coleman, and 22-year-old Anijah Coleman were traveling in a vehicle in the 100 block of Old Highway 15 where the accident happened. Law enforcement authorities said the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found the three victims deceased. As of press time, the crash is still under investigation. The Coleman and McGraw families are devastated that two of their family members are no longer with them. The family is facing some difficult times, as they desire to give their loved ones proper and gracefully homegoing. In a social media post written by Brian Hill, the family remembers both Annesha and Anijah. Annesha was a daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and a great friend to many people. She was known for her sweet spirit and always being full of life; to know her was to love her, the family said. Anijah is remembered as someone who had a bright future ahead of her. She leaves to cherish her memories with her parents, siblings, relatives, friends, and her baby girl, her dog, Queenie. The family is looking at some difficult times as they prepare to lay their loved ones to rest. They have set up a GoFundMe account and are asking for donations. The funerals will cost thousands of dollars to cover the expenses. Cash donations can be made to Ketoria Coleman, who is organizing the fundraiser, and to Ericka Coleman, according to Hill.
