No Struggle, No Progress

I Wanted Yours' Fresh

I remember going to Subway restaurant and waiting in line with everyone else. I waited, to me, a lot longer than everyone else did. The line was moving at a great speed, and others were receiving their food quickly; but for some reason, it seemed as if the employee was looking over me. I began to get frustrated and wondered if the person was purposely making me wait. I mean, was I not as important as everyone else? Did she not see me? Was I in the right place? Did she forget about me? All sorts of questions filled my head. Suddenly, I was apologized to, thanked, and asked by the employee what she could help me with; seeing the disappointed look on my face, she took the bread out and with a warm smile, she politely said, “I just wanted yours fresh. That’s what I was waiting on.”

I can’t explain the feeling that came upon me to know that of all the people that were in line with me, she wanted me to have the best. God then gave me a revelation: Many times in life, we feel like God is looking over us. We feel like God sees everyone else’s concerns and tends to them, but ours may just not be important enough. We feel like things are or aren’t happening because we’ve done something wrong. We feel like God has just forgotten us altogether, but that’s not the case. The truth of the matter is that God loves us so much that He makes us wait for the best. He’ll allow, and He understands our frustrations and moments of doubt. He can show us that He loves us even more than we love ourselves. In no way can the desires of our hearts exceed the greatness He has in store for us. He’s a great gift giver, and great gifts are coming to you! God has not forgotten you. He loves you, and if you stay in line and don’t grow faint, you will too hear God say one day, “Thank you for waiting on me; I just wanted yours fresh.” But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up. With wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. - Isaiah 40:31
