No Struggle, No Progress
No, I don’t think E.T. is trying to pay us a visit. Nor are we about to experience a “War of the Worlds” moment as in being attacked by “little green men” from Mars. Until this nation lands more people on the moon first, any inhabitants on the planet Mars have nothing to worry about. Over a two-week period, there has been an increased interest in what is going on over our heads and not in a “sky is falling” ruse. To some of our political leaders and media pundits, we may soon see pictures of “Chicken Little” in some media circles, all in an effort for some citizens to believe that this nation is under attack by aliens and oh yeah, to get some votes. President Joe Biden has no sooner faced the situation of being called a liar during his State of The Union address to the nation last week, then faced even more criticism as he ordered the military to shoot down a Chinese “weather” balloon that crisscrossed the nation. Everyone has said that Biden came out as the winner over the SOTU speech, as that made Republicans look like anything but statesmen(women), totally lacking class with their juvenile antics as the nation and the world watched Biden give his speech. Since Biden’s address, the nation has seen three more mysterious objects being shot down by the military, though unlike with the Chinese balloon, we don’t know what those objects were. But that hasn’t stopped Republicans from hounding the president, demanding that he share more information as if national security may be compromised by one of the objects and the public has a right to know the details. Republicans and some Democrats who sit on intelligence committees know those agencies such as the military or the Pentagon, do not give out information unless it is at the direction of the president and only after they have convinced the commander-in-chief that national security will not be compromised. It seems that Republicans are going out of their way to implicate Biden in some kind, any kind of “gate” scandal. Why? Because since gaining control of the House, the only thing that they seem to be interested in is having as many investigations on Hunter Biden, and the Covid-19 pandemic. They will talk less about what their plans are for Medicare and Social Security. Biden threw a beautiful counter punch to their heckling when he read words about some entitlement concepts by Republicans when he said during his address, that Congress “will not” touch the programs to the jeers of Democrats, where even House Speaker Kevin McCarthy had to rise out of his seat and mildly clap his hands. He had to, as the camera was directly on Biden, Vice-President Kamala Harris, and him in one screenshot. Democrats can play that over and over come election time. The outrage is fake.
Republicans have now pivoted to UFOs, as the last three objects are called, but only because the military has not told the nation just what those objects were. AK Senator Tom Cotton (R) said, that the president needs to go “on camera” and explain what is known about the objects while protecting the nation’s sovereign airspace. Marco Rubio, (R) of Florida who is vice-chairman of the Intelligence Committee, noted the “unprecedented” nature of the military shooting down aircraft in sovereign space. “NORAD’s been around for 65 years”, said Rubio adding, “we’ve never shot down anything, and in eight days, have shot down four things. That’s a big deal. It doesn’t happen every day”. Rubio must have been asleep at the wheel on those comments, as most people would say that if NORAD never had to take those steps, we were never threatened, and if as some Republicans want to suggest, NORAD is up for the task. Four objects that might have been threats are no more, would be a good line for President Biden to say. The outrage is fake.
The best comment might have come from House member Marjorie Taylor Greene, (R) of Georgia, who said that people “were scared” and believed crazy things on the Internet. As she is called in media circles, MTG may know a little something about “crazy” things, as she once talked about “Jewish space lasers”, something right out of UFOs and science fiction. As for Democrats who may be drinking some of the Kool-Aid, their “criticism of Biden " is mild compared to that of Republicans. They will say just enough, that they would like to know more, but that the president will address the public when it is time. Mr. Biden, no doubt will give more information after being briefed by the military at the appropriate time despite what Republicans will say. Sooner or later, Republicans in Congress will have to come to Democrats in the Senate where the talk will be about Social Security and Medicare, not so much about balloons. Since they saw their leader in the House stand and applaud, it will be hard for them to turn the focus away from balloons. Biden has already proved that he can handle them. The outrage is fake. Remember, the world is watching. So is God.
