No Struggle, No Progress
The father of Black History, Mr. Carter G. Woodson, said, " When you control a man's thinking you don't have to worry about his actions". Colors have been used to manipulate our thoughts and behaviors since we were first introduced to them. In this poem, I am attempting to shed some light on this plot and hopefully dispel some of the myths associated with colors thereby freeing our minds for more constructive thoughts about ourselves. As Dr. king once said, "Somebody told a lie one day about black being ugly, sinister and bad.. But, I want to get the language right today. Yes, I am black and BEAUTIFUL.

What is the color of the bad guy's hat ?
What is the color of the cat, that is supposed to bring you bad luck if it crosses your tracks ?
What color dress does the wicked witch wear in "The Wizard Of Oz" ?
And, what is the color of the sheep that is the outcast and is called "odd" ?
What is the color of the magic when an evil spell is cast ?
And, what is the color of the mail when you agree to keep a dirty secret in return for cold hard cash ?
What is the color of the cake that is the food for the devil ?
And, what is the color of the market where illegal goods are bought and sold by crooks who think they are clever ?
After searching thru your mind and considering the facts, the answer to all the questions is the color bl--k...
What is the color of angel food ?
And, in the movies, what is the color of the hat that is worn by the "good dude" ?
What is the color of a lie when it is little or small ?
And, in the game of pool, what is the color of the dominating
ball ?
What is the color of the flag that is waved to signify you want peace ?
And, what is the color of the collar of a job that represents a salary increase ?
What is the color of the house that is the home of the
President ?

Once again, you got it right, the answer to all the questions is the color wh--e...
Before you stop reading this poem and your mind begins to settle
There are a few things to be considered about God and the Devil...
Because the only way we can determine what God looks like
Is to look at the pictures that have been painted of Jesus Christ
Although we have never seen the son of God face to face
He was portrayed as white to suggest that they had a superior race
We are told that Jesus is the spitting image of His father
And, if you look at one of them, then it is just like looking at the other
The pictures we see of Jesus is a man with blond hair and blue eyes
So, we think of him as being a white man in our minds
Well, if Jesus is white with blond hair and eyes that are blue
Then, His father, God, must be a white man too.
Since we know that the opposite of good is evil
And, the opposite of God is the Devil
When we think about the negative meaning of black magic, the black sheep, black market, black mail, black pepper and the black cat
We figure that if God is white, then His opposite, the Devil, must be bl--k...
What we were taught about colors still affects us to this day
It explains why we treat each other is such hostile and negative ways
We rape, beat, hate, shoot, cut and fight each other causing much pain and hurt
We act like the Devil is a black person and we are hired killers doing the Lord's work
We treat our women like dogs and think that everything that is white is good or right
We look at everything that is black as bad or evil because of how they painted Christ
When you think about the color of pepper, it should ring a bell, because it is hot and black and this reminds us of hell...
Colors have been used as a dangerous weapon, because they made sugar sweet and white to make us think of of heaven.....
You can't believe everything that comes from a person's mouth
You must treat it like we eat a sunflower seed: take the goody and spit the rest of it out...
