An alleged hurtful and harmful racial remark made by a local woman who works in education is making its rounds. Many area residents are disappointed to learn that former Ouachita Parish Junior High School secretary Nelwyn Poland Fontana allegedly referred to Martin Luther King Jr. Day, as "Ni****" Day in a text conversation between her and a school coach. The exchange was shared via social media and has since gone micro-viral. It is unclear if Fontana resigned or was fired from her job, but she is no longer with the school. Unfortunately, many of the community are not surprised by her words.
