No Struggle, No Progress

"BREAK THE MOLD"

Like many of you, when I am in trouble, I call upon the Lord. And, it was during a time of crisis in my life that He inspired me with this "joint" that I wanted to "pass" on to y'all. It is my prayer that we are reminded that God should not be used as an ATM machine that we run to ONLY when we are in a crisis or in need of a blessing. When we reflect upon what He has already done and continues to do in our lives, we will usually find the answers we are seeking to solve our present situation. Most importantly, we should be grateful that He left the best example for us to follow and that the world (as bad as we may think it is) did not defeat Him. Our heavyweight champion is UNDEFEATED ! Continue to walk in the footsteps of the Master and follow the instructions He left as our guide to a "higher" understanding of who we have the potential to become. "THE PO' FOLK'S POET" And inspired by God

This necklace of stone, has caused me to moan, and now it's disturbing my peace

The weight of this load, has eventually thrown, me down to my bending knees

To pray to the Lord, because things were so hard, until I was yearning for some ease.

I had so many problems, I needed Him to solve them, before I lost my mind

From the children, to cheap thrills, my health and these bills, to my brother who was doing time.

I had a long list, like a child for St. Nick, hoping that joy he could bring

But, on the way to the floor, He knocked at the door, of my heart and caused bells to ring.

It stirred up my gifts, and helped me to lift, my eyes so I could see

All the blessings He had given, how He released me from my prison, and saved a wretch like me.

I was reminded of hard times, the mountains He helped me to climb, and the rivers He helped me to cross

How He pulled me out of the fire, gave me my heart's desire, and the battles I should have lost.

As I searched thru my mind, and looked back in time, things could have been a lot worse

BUT, He took me in from the rain, made me whole again, when I was last, He made me first.

The things He has done for me, are stored in my memory, and deposited like in a bank account

So, when my life is in a wreck, His grace is like a check, that is sufficient and will not bounce.

This made me change my prayer, because I had to declare, that my battle was already won

Instead of begging for a blessing, I reflected on life's lessons, He taught me thru His son.

I began to praise Him for the wealth, of the revelation that I felt, that can't be measured by silver or gold

I am grateful for the model, that He left for us to follow, and thankful that this world couldn't
