Gun Pulled over Dog

Disclaimer: All persons are innocent until proven guilty. A dog is said to be man's best friend because people's attachment to dogs is sometimes unbelievable to those who don't have them. According to police reports, a victim complained to law enforcement concerning a missing puppy whose value was $185 was missing from their residence in Monroe, LA. Thursday, October 13, 2022. Reports shared the victim saw his dog in a yard across the street. The victim was in the process of taking his dog back home when the suspect, Jocquan L. Bowden came from the house with a firearm pointed toward him. The victim left his dog out of fear for his life. The following day deputies went to the neighbor's house to speak to Bowden and his girlfriend. They both spoke to deputies through their door but refused to open it. They told deputies that Bowden pointed a gun at the neighbor because he tried to steal their dog. The twosome confirmed they had possession of the dog, which they claimed they bought from a friend. On Wednesday, October 26, 2022, deputies returned to the residence with photos of the stolen dog provided by the victim. Bowden and his girlfriend were confronted again by deputies, who alleged the dog was at a friend's home but refused to tell where the dog was. The owner of the home, the suspect's grandfather, came to the scene and allowed deputies to inspect his home for the dog they found inside, which matched the photos the victim provided. After the truth was revealed, Bowden finally admitted that he knew the dog belonged to his neighbor. He suggested that the dog ventured into his yard three times before he decided to keep it. He was arrested and charged with Theft and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. There are three sides to every story. This was one side of this story.
