Hammer Murderer's Guilty Verdict

The trial in the case of the State of Louisiana v. Lester Ramsey, Jr. began Monday, October 7, 2022 in the Ouachita Parish Courthouse. The defendant, Lester Ramsey Jr., was charged with one count of Second-Degree Murder for the February 2020 homicide of Cadarion "Nuuk" Buggs. The state presented the testimony of multiple witnesses, including the investigating officers and Ouachita Parish Coroner. Ramsey chose to testify in his defense. After both sides rested, the jury deliberated for less than two hours before rendering a unanimous verdict of guilty as charged of Second-Degree Murder. The court scheduled the sentencing hearing for December 13, 2022. Second-Degree Murder carries a life sentence in Louisiana. According to police reports, a missing person complaint was filed for Cadarrrion M. Buggs on February 28, 2020, who was last seen on February 20, 2020. A police investigation proved the victim Cadarrion M. Buggs was murdered at a West Monroe residence on Austin St. by suspect Lester Ramsey Jr., 20. Detectives interviewed the suspect, yet he could not tell them what happened to the victim. After obtaining a search warrant of the suspect’s home, law enforcement determined a violent crime occurred by evidence found in several rooms. While interviewing the suspect, he allegedly admitted to hitting the victim with a hammer during an argument. The suspect wrapped the victim’s body in a rug dumping it in Monroe, LA. Investigators at the scene found multiple rooms where signs of a violent crime ensued, and huge amounts of blood were lost.
