No Struggle, No Progress
In life, it is often very easy to lose our purpose or forget why our path is different from others. We’re all unique and we were all created differently but from the beginning of time, we’ve all always tried to follow the path of others. Is it fear? Is it anxiety? Who really knows but what I can tell you is that we all have our own path. Think of it as you driving on a divided highway; two directions of traffic yet they’re both on the same road. Your drive is going fine until you see a detour sign 10 miles ahead, yet your destination is also 10 miles ahead. Several cars in front of you turn around at an intersection and head in the opposite direction of traffic. At this point two options cross your mind: keep going or follow someone else’s path and turn around? If you know your path and truly believe in yourself, you’d stay on the road, but if you aren’t as confident or fearful, you’d turn around. The two end solutions of that scenario apply to everyone’s life whether we realize it or not and everyone has taken both routes. No one is made with that strong and confident mindset and mentality; it takes time and growth. You must grow and evolve as a person and figure out your purpose in life to get on your path. Not a family member’s, a friend, or a partner, but yours. I’m not saying it’s okay to not seek help or ask for guidance but once we allow that help to fully alter our whole course and base it on what someone else would do is when it becomes a problem. We weren’t put here on this world to follow someone else’s journey; we were meant to make our own and pave the way for others to create their own paths. So be yourself, take the extra risk, and most importantly, stay on your path, not the image of people around you because you are you, and there’s no changing that.
