No Struggle, No Progress
It’s obviously that time of the year again. It’s time for bedtime curfews and early morning rising. It’s time for supplies, clothes, pep talks and so on. I just want to remind the parents of something, before the school year officially begins. First and foremost, pray! Your child/children and others at your child's/children's school, need God’s guidance and protection. We are living in very different times. Secondly, watch your mouth. Yes, you read that correctly. Be careful what you speak over your child in frustration, anger or even jokingly. Words are powerful, and they affect your children more than you know. Words shape and change atmospheres; so, make sure what’s spoken, is life! Also, be considerate. Think of other parents’ children and the faculty and staff at your child’s school. Talk to your child/children about behavior, respect and manners. Let them know that others deserve to be treated kindly, and so do they. Lastly, ask questions and stay involved. Don’t assume everything with your child is okay. Sometimes, children feel inadequate and depressed. From peer pressure, to struggling with certain subjects, children deal with a lot. Many times, they don’t feel accepted or included, and it can greatly affect their performance level at school. Get involved. Support them and their school. Be their biggest cheerleader. Love them, and let them know you have their backs. I pray that this school year is a blessed one. I pray that the children will be safe and comfortable, healthy and protected. I pray that they will flourish in school, and that all faculty and staff, will have an easier school year. You got this! Your children do too! Happy School Year!
