Bessie Faye McHenry Jordan was born in Sterlington, LA on April 9, 1942 to the late Mr. and Mrs. S.O. McHenry. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Monroe, LA. She was a graduate of Carroll High School and Grambling State University and was a retired teacher from Ouachita Parish Schools with 37 years of service. She was married to the late Robert "Chicken" Jordan. Bessie Faye was a member of Zeta Phi Beta, Imperia Court Daughters of Isis (Prince Hall Affiliated), and Order of the Golden Circle (Southern Jurisdiction PHA). She was a mother of twins, Kobi and Aoko. She loved her close-knit family, Modear and Daddy, and all her six siblings were very close. Bessie Faye was a kind and respectful person who always thought the best of others. She was an incredible person who was very thoughtful and emotional. Farewell, Bessie Faye, you are truly missed. Left to cherish memories are her children, Kobi and Aoko Jordan, siblings James, Fredrick, Barbara, Patricia, and Sharon, and a host of family and friends. Funeral services are Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Mount Olivet Baptist Church Family Life Center, 200 Swayze St. in Monroe, LA. Professional services under the direction of Hester's Funeral Home in Monroe, LA.
