No Struggle, No Progress
Family members are upset over the treatment of an inmate housed at Ouachita Correctional Center (OCC) in Richwood, LA. The family of a local inmate believes Ouachita Correctional Center needs to be shut down or someone needs to step in before the facility begins to have lawsuits. One family member has a loved one in pod 5/6, and on certain shifts, guards are allegedly overly mean and inappropriate. The family member alleges that there is bleach in the inmates' food, they are denied phone calls, are not permitted to make sick calls to see the nurse and experience very racist verbal attacks. The family member's loved one has tried to buzz for the nurse for almost three weeks, especially after finding out that one inmate within the group had tested positive for COVID. Why isn't there a protocol for testing for COVID 19 or mandatory quarantining when new inmates are arrested? This, along with many other issues, are so disrespectful!
