No Struggle, No Progress
Monroe City Academy League is excited to begin its inaugural youth soccer season for girls and boys ages 5-12. The League will be operated and managed by Free Me Association, a non-profit organization focused on youth and community development in Monroe, Louisiana. The league will consist of a mixture of “Academy Community Teams” that will be selected by a random draft process. Each team will practice at Forsythe Park or Benoit Community Center two times weekly. During practice youth athletes will learn skill development, knowledge, fundamentals, and education for the game of soccer. No prior experience is necessary. The season will last approximately six weeks, and began with a youth skills clinic on May 7,2022. Youth soccer will benefit youth by teaching healthy habits and embedding education enrichment in the game of soccer by including math through scorekeeping and physical science as well.
