Solomon Lovell Riley, Jr. was born on June 25, 1935 in Monroe LA. He was the only child born to the union of Solomon Lovell Riley, Dr. and Gladys Brooks. He spent his formative years in Monroe at Little Flower Catholic School. Upon graduation he enrolled at Xavier University in New Orleans LA. Leaving after two years of study, Sol joined the U.S. Air Force. Upon completing a tour of duty, he returned to Xavier graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Pre-Medicine in 1960, then entering Creighton University Medical School in Omaha NB completing a residency in medicine.at Washington University. After Sol's return to Xavier, he reconnected with childhood school mate from Little Flower June Courtney. They married, moved to San Francisco CA where Sol began an internship at Kaiser Hospital. The couple settled in Los Angeles CA, raised a family, where he later became a forensic pathology serving as Deputy Coroner for Los Angels CA for 25 years. Sol and his wife traveled to more than 50 countries while being a man of faith at St. Bernadette Catholic Church for 50 plus years. Sol was a family man who loved his wife and cherished his children while his greatest joys were his two grandchildren. He is survived by his wife June, two daughter Monica Riley Baker (Michale), Pamela Riley Thaniel (Ron), one son Kevil Riely (Thsis) and a host of family and friends. Funeral services were February18, 2022 at Risen Christ Chapel Holy Cross Mortuary in Culver City CA.
