Gone Too Soon

Hearts are saddened at the expected death of Yolanda Mitchell. She was born July 31, 1969 to the late Betty Windsor and was a Ouachita Parish High School Graduate. Her family is Marques, Courtney,Jameisha, Sharnae, Jarell, Sholanda, Yasmine, Diamond and Zarria are devastated . Her funeral services are Saturday March 19, 2022 at 2pm at rose of Sharon Baptist Church in Monroe LA. Her service are entrusted to Smith Funeral Home. Please remember her family in prayer. The death of a woman at a local motel led to a quick arrest of the alleged suspect. According to police reports, on Sunday, March 13, 2022, police responded to a call of a suspicious death. Upon arrival at the OYO Hotel on Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. police discovered the body of Yolanda Mitchell.. According to police, Mitchell had suffered some trauma to her body that appeared to show that a physical altercation had occurred with her and someone else. A "person of interest" was established at the scene by police, as detectives were called to investigate. They would soon locate the alleged suspect, Tony Davis, and arrest him. Davis, according to police, has a history of domestic abuse and allegedly has been arrested prior for offenses. He was taken to Ouachita Correctional Center (OCC) and charged with Second Degree Murder; his bond is set at $1,000,000. As of press time, no motive was given by police for why Davis allegedly killed Mitchell
