No Struggle, No Progress

Too Okay to Live

Psalms 139:2-3 2) You know my sitting down and my uprising. You understand my thoughts afar off. 3) Thou compass my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. Many people are hiding devastating truths, behind material wealth and smiles. Many have mastered the art of looking okay and saying things are okay, when their reality tells a different story. Because society has made it acceptable for imperfection to be abnormal, many are hiding depression, anxiety, suicidal and homicidal thoughts, behind high fashion and high profiles. It's not these thoughts in particular, that lead to tragedy; it's the hiding and silent suffering, that causes these thoughts to materialize into something tragic. How do we resolve this? How can we help what's hidden? We pray that God will give us eyes to see the broken- even within ourselves (He sees everything). We pray that we become sensitive to the things of God. We stop encouraging others to pretend, by placing unrealistic expectations upon them. We give each other room to err, regardless of the title, social status or position. We have genuine compassion for others. We don't run from, but embrace the difficult topics. We love without motives and have passion for positive change. If we don't wake up and stop numbing ourselves with temporary feel goods, instead of facing whatever our and society's realities are- we are going to see more people being buried under societal pressures. If we don't acknowledge and turn to God; then, the idol created of mankind, will continue to speak to us, telling us we aren't enough. That breeds more pretentious behavior, that fuels the voice that whispers, "I'm too Okay To live". We don't have to pretend. We have a God and genuine people out here who truly care.
