Citizens Request Street Rename

The cornerstone which Monroe LA rejected in the 1960’s was Troy X’s teaching and preaching Black History to us here on the historic 10th St. in downtown in the Miller-Roy Building on 10th Street and DeSiard Street. Wyatt X. Wilson is petitioning the Monroe City Council to approve the 10th Street name change along with Ouachita Parish and the State of Louisiana as a Historic Street for Troy X from Washington Street to the corner of DeSiard Street, a historic tourist site like (Coca Cola)Joseph Beidenharn and his headquarters of Delta Airlines here in 1925, for his accomplishments. However, my point is the the time for another piece of important history should be brought to the light. “The Time Has Come,” said by Pastor Tharris Bishop. West Monroe and the Chamber of Commerce have not done anything to help us in the Black Community. The Bible says, “We have not because, we ask not!” Say it Loud, “I’m Black & I’m Proud
