No Struggle, No Progress
Christina Gary is a 14-year-old 10th grade student at Franklin Parish High School and a native of Winnsboro, LA. Christina skipped kindergarten and has cumulative 3.9 GPA in school. She is the daughter of Dr. Christy Allen-Pleasant and Mr. Jerry Gary. She has been a member of Beta club since 4th grade and placed at district competition several years competing in the public speaking category. Christina was currently elected Beta Club Chaplain for the 2022-2023 school year. She has been a member of Franklin Parish Gifted Program since second grade. She has been a member for 4-H since 4th grade and has been elected amongst her peers for student council for the past 3 years. Christina is President of Shiloh Baptist Church's youth group Speak Up for Jesus. She is also the Youth Sunday School Teacher for Shiloh Baptist Church. She is a member of FBLA and FCCLA She was one of FPJH's first mascots and eventually became a FPJH cheerleader and a FP High School Cheerleader. Christina likes to read, play with her younger sister, Kristen and their family's dog, Max. When she is not caught up with a good Nicholas Sparks book or playing with Kristen and Max, she likes to hang out with her friends. Christina enjoys seeing other people smile and likes to spread positivity in the world. Her favorite genre of music is reggae, and of course, she loves Bob Marley. Christina has been invited to Southern University's Agriculture Department to recite monologues for two years Christina, but she is unsure which HBCU she plans to attend; however, she has already received several invitations from a variety of universities. After High School she plans to major in Psychology, pursue her master's in counseling, and her Doctorate Degree in Psychology. She hopes to open one day her own Mental Health Clinic for adolescents.
