Sunrise: March 24, 1955 Sunset: August 2, 2021 Arenta Peevy was the fourth of five children born to Leroy and Dorothy Peevy. He was the grandson of Eddie Leroy Warner, Hickory Henry Peevy, Bessie Walden Peevy and Elisha and Elsie Reed. Eddie Leroy Warner, Hickory Henry Peevy, Bessie Walden Peevy and Elisha and Elsie Reed, great grandparents Fred and Savanna Taylor, Birdie Wade Reed, sister Fannie Mae Thompson, son Rico Peevy Sr., and grandson Rico Peevy Jr. all preceded him in death. At an early age, Arenta joined church at China Grove Baptist Church, Powell Avenue Church of God in Christ. He later joined Baines Temple Church of God in Christ where his father was pastor. He received an education from Swayze Elementary and Richwood High School. Arenta met and married his high school sweetheart, Shelia Calloway. To this union five children were born and raised, Demetrics Peevy (Kimberly), Oliver Jackson, Roshundlyn Peevy, Alexixia Peevy and Rico Peevy. Arenta joined the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Meade, Maryland. After serving in the military he received an honorable discharge. He was a truck driver which was an occupation he loved and thoroughly enjoyed. Arenta also loved to read! Left to cherish memories are his children - Demetrics Peevy (Kimberly), Oliver Jackson, Roshundlyn Peevy, Alexixia Peevy and Rico Peevy; Edrenta, Trio, Xavier, and Shawn Morris, Tamara Comanche; one brother - Ezekiel Reed (Maxine), two sisters - Betty Peevy, Theresa Causey (Clifton); two aunts - Philmon Taylor and Mattie Peevy; like a sister - Annie Mae Peevy; special friend - Kim Young, 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. The family is grateful that God allowed Arenta to be with them for 66 adventurous years. Graveside services are Saturday, August 7, 2021 11:00 AM at Richwood Memorial Gardens in Richwood, LA. Visitation is Friday, August 6, 6:00 - 7:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home in Monroe, LA.
