Moving Home

Herman Brown was born July 20, 1934, in Eudora, Arkansas. He was a very bright, spirited individual who loved and enjoyed family, friends, and life. Exemplifying leadership as a young adult, he was responsible for leading his family to a better quality of life by moving them to Monroe, LA. With determination to be successful and a desire to contribute to the community, he worked in several capacities for the city of Monroe, which included Housing and Urban Development and the City Marshal's Office. Before retiring, he served as a bus driver for the Monroe City Schools. He was often found spending time with his family and friends, enjoying his favorite hobby, golf. He was a member of the Riverside Missionary Baptist Church, where he embraced the responsibilities of Deacon. Herman departed this life on July 18, 2021. He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Flossie M. Brown, and three children - Thelma J. Harris, Oakland, CA; Rawn K. Brown Fairfield, CA; and Kevin D. Brown, Plano, TX. Other survivors include one sister - Izola B. Brown; one brother - James Brown, Monroe, LA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends. Funeral services and interment for Herman Brown will be held graveside at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Richwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Reverend Clarence Jackson, Sr. officiating. Visitation is Friday, July 30, 2021 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at Miller Funeral Home in Monroe, LA.
