No Struggle, No Progress
Hearts are heavy today as a community is mourning the deaths of three teenagers who lost their lives in an automobile accident in Lincoln Parish. The three teens were all residents of Jonesboro, LA. News of the accident has rocked the small community, especially those who knew the teens. According to reports, law enforcement officers responded to the scene of an automobile crash that allegedly occurred on Works Rd. in Jonesboro around 3:45 PM on July 27, 2021. Officers said that the driver, Lajermanique Nichols, 19, along with Lajavion Nichols, 17, and Javious Holden, 16, were not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the vehicle. A fourth passenger, 18-year-old Edward Kary, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transferred to a local hospital. Officers say he was also ejected from the car. The vehicle, according to officers, was traveling east on Works Rd. and a preliminary investigation determined that the vehicle allegedly rotated, left the roadway, and struck a large tree. Now, a community mourns. Jonesboro is a small town, like a family, so everyone is hurting. Many are in disbelief because the teens were well known. Javious and Edward played on the high school football team, and Lajermanique was a teacher at the Boys and Girls Club. Another resident said that they were all great kids as they watched them grow up. Those who knew them said that the community must come together in times like these since the town is shaken and so many people are hurting. Please pray for the community and the Kary family as they go through this difficult time.
