Cheryl Kay Williams Ricks Collins, our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister was called home to glory to rest with Jehovah on May 31, 2021. Cheryl was born on July 13, 1949 to the late Eddie Ricks and Ozella Ricks in Rayville, Louisiana. She was one of 10 children. Her beloved father, mother, two brothers, one brother-in-law, husband, and son preceded her in death. She was united in matrimony to the late Wardell Collins and to their union four children were born. Her son, Gary Collins, died as an infant in 1968. She was a daughter, sister, wife, aunt, niece, cousin, retired Monroe City Schools (Barkdull Faulk and Georgia Tucker) educator of 33 years, breast cancer survivor, friend, but her most proud roles were as a mother and grandmother. She loved her sons and grandchildren. She loved her entire family and always expressed that love to all of them. Cheryl weathered many storms throughout her life. Through her faith and love she conquered this life. Cheryl fought a good fight, she finished her course, and all while keeping her faith! She leaves to cherish her loving memories: three devoted sons, Gregory Collins of Monroe, LA; Marcus Collins (Tasha) of Monroe, LA; Christopher Collins, Sr. (Tonya) of Baton Rouge, LA; Ten grandchildren, Jasmine Linder (Troy), Alise Grayson, Morgan Collins, McKenzie Collins, Macy Collins, Christopher Collins, Jr., Cidney Collins, Cayla Collins, and Jakobi Hill; brothers and sister, Lipton Marshall (deceased), Ella Yakubu, Brenda Ricks, Debbie Jones, Glen Williams (deceased), Thomascine Watkins, Runnell Ricks (Remylyn), Robin Ricks, Hope Jackson (late husband Allen) ; a special friend, Michael Jenkins as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Our loved one is entrusted to Tennant Funeral Home, Rayville LA. Visitation is Thursday June 10, 2021 from 5 pm – 6 pm at Tennant Funeral Home, Rayville, LA. Funeral services are Friday, June 11, 2021 at 11 am at Richardson Funeral Home in Monroe, LA. Interment to follow at Richwood Memorial Gardens, Richwood LA.
