No Struggle, No Progress
Richland Parish has lost a trail blazing pioneer and community leader, Dr. Moses D'jon Wilkins, 58! Moses D'Jon Wilkins was born to the late Moses and Doretha Wilkins on November 27, 1962. He transitioned to be with the Lord on May 4, 2021. Moses was preceded in death by two of his siblings Mr. Percy Derell Jones and Mrs. WyVette Demetria Wilkins-Charles. He was a proud 1980 graduate of Rayville High School and 1984 graduate of Southern University A&M University in Baton Rouge, LA, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. Moses was a Richland Parish School Board Member, Commissioner of Richardson Medical Center, former Economic Development Director under the administration of the late Honorable Isam Berry Sr. in addition to other community endeavors which helped uplift the town of Rayville, LA. He also received an MBA in Business Administration from Jackson State University in 2012 and received his PhD in Economics from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2017. He is survived by his loving sister, Ms. Alfrieda Danelle Wilkins; three children - Jarrell Wilkins, Tremaine Robinson, Christian Littleton; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, colleagues, and friends. His funeral services are Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the Richland Arts Center in Rayville, LA. Visitation/Family hour is Friday, May 14, 2021, 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Tennant Funeral in Rayville, LA. A very assertive, creative, talented and very bright aspiring young man, Dr. Moses D'Jon Wilkins will be greatly missed by all. Please continue to uplift his family with love and prayers.
