No Struggle, No Progress

8-Year-Old Monroe Native Starts a Business

Those who once said you can't learn anything from watching TV can now be put to shame after hearing 8-year-old Londyn Simmons' story, who was inspired to start her own business after watching an episode of Shark Tank. Shark Tank is a TV show that allows business owners to pitch their products to venture capitalists who then either negotiate a deal to invest or send the businesses away empty-handed. London discovered the show last year during the global pandemic and eventually shared her desires to create a cosmetic product line with her parents Reginald Simmons and Cynthia Davis-Simmons, both Monroe natives who now reside in Baton Rouge. Londyn begins her first business venture with lip-gloss, since it is her favorite. Not only is Simmons a budding entrepreneur, she is also an honor student in her school's gifted and talented program. Londyn's business, "Lovely Londyn" officially launches with an event on Saturday, April 24th, 2021, 1:00 - 5:00PM at 8930 Plank Road, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70811. The launch will also be streamed live via Facebook. For more information visit http://www.lovelylondyn.shop or email, [email protected] or [email protected]. Best of luck Londyn!
