Ruth Chimney White of Tulsa, OK - A powerful seasoned woman of God with a heart full of love and compassion for the saved and unsaved. Called into the gospel ministry at an early age as a servant in the Church, from Sunday School teacher to an Apostle of Faith to many as she surely evangelized the world. Apostle Ruth was born in Garrison, Texas, November 6, 1941 to her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Lonnie B. and Ruth Chimney and was reared with six brothers and five sisters. She was formerly married to Rev. John White, Sr. and to that union she had one son, her beloved John White III (Florence), who preceded her in death. Apostle Ruth has two grandsons, and one granddaughter. Apostle Ruth transitioned from this life to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 13, 2021. After graduating high school, she went on to further her education at Texas College and majored in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Being an avid learner, not only did she finish her bachelor's degree, but also acquired a math and special education certification, and studied career guidance and counseling. She received numerous awards in her profession; Teacher of the Year, NAACP Service Awards, Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, just to name a few. As a lifelong learner, and in her desire to fulfill all that God ordained her to do, ministry became her fulltime focus. She went on to graduate with Honors from the Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, OK, attended Victory Bible Institute for three quarters, and obtained her Ph.D. in Religious Philosophy at Tabernacle Bible College and Seminary, Tampa, FL. Dr. Ruth's ministry spanned for 60 years and more than 40 of those years were spent in fulltime ministry. Early in life God gave Dr. Ruth a vision and passion to reach the lost at any cost. He told her to take the Good News of Jesus Christ to those who have never before heard His Name and experienced His Love. This began her missionary journeys to Africa and Haiti. She supported seven village pastors monthly, distributed bibles, religious materials, food, and clothing. During these mission trips, she provided opportunities for other ministers to preach, teach, baptize and to help build village churches. Her mission was powerful and full of the fire of the Holy Spirit. She conducted healing services where many were healed. She served in whatever capacity she could as she witnessed to others about the redeeming love of Jesus Christ. She educated others with her knowledge of the Word. She trained pastors and leaders to lead their flocks. She was a wise and humble servant of God. Her legacy lives on through her family, friends, spiritual children, and the thousands who were saved, filled with the spirit, trained, and learned under her ministry. In honor of Apostle/Dr. Ruth C.
