No Struggle, No Progress
Sister Mamie Dell Parker was a sweet baby girl born April 12, 1945 to the late John Parker and Janie Huff Parker in Los Angeles CA. Mamie was called from labor to reward on Sunday January 17, 2021. She was a proud graduate of Carroll High School and studies at Southern University A & M College in Baton Rouge LA. She was employed with Pacific Gas and Electric in Oakland CA and South Central Bell in Monroe LA. Mamie confessed Christ at an early age. She grew up in her home church First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of three mighty men of God, Rev. P.C. Keal, Rev. H.Y. Cyrus and Rev A.J. Mansfield. On May 19, 1996, Mamie joined Macedonia Baptist Church in Monroe LA under the leadership of the anointed Rev. Robby D. Williams and remained active until she was no longer able to attend in person. Preceding her in death were her parents and sister Alice Hill. Mamie leaves to cherish her memories to one loving son Verbon R. Muhammad (Mary) Monroe LA, two grandchildren Dijon R. Hill (Ava) Houston TX, Verbon R. Muhammad Jr. Baton Rouge LA, one amazing great-grandchild Oliver Louis Hill Houston TX, one caring niece Glenda Simon Parkersburg WV, Valerie S. Fields Simmons (Usef) West Monroe LA whom she fondly called "Cousin Val" as well as a host of family and friends. Mamie's graveside services were Saturday January 23, 2021 at Richwood Memorial Gardens in Richwood LA.
