No Struggle, No Progress
Love is profoundly tender, yet passionate affection for another person while experiencing a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection. When love goes awry, love can be twisted into a monster which is unrecognizable. According to police reports, a domestic disturbance was reported on December 15, 2020. Police made contact with Suspect Gerica Standifer in a post Miranda interview where the suspect told police that nothing physical took place nor were there any type of weapons or harm caused to the victim. The suspect allegedly admitted to pulling her wife's hair with children present at their residence while a battery happened. The suspect also followed the victim to a gas station holding a pocketknife in hand where the suspect carved a X on the passenger door of the victim's vehicle. Upon speaking with the victim stated her hair was pulled, items were thrown at her while kids were in the house. The victim left the residence where the suspect followed her to a gas station. The suspect chased the victim around the parking lot with a large pocketknife. When the victim managed to get into her vehicle, she worried the suspect was going to break the window as she beat on it in fear of her life afraid if the suspect got into the vehicle. A 911 call was made as the victim was being chased as witnesses witnessed the suspect pull the victim's hair and followed the victim from the residence. Both the suspect and victim have been married for a year and currently lived together. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic abuse aggravated battery and child endangerment.
