HeART of The City Expo

Free Me Association is proud to present the H.E.A.R.T of the City- art expo. The project is a three-part art contest for high school artists in Monroe/West Monroe Area. The contest will be held on December 19, 26 & January 2 at Northeast Louisiana Delta African American Museum 1051 Chennault Park Dr. in Monroe LA. The December 26 and Jan 2 portion of the contest will be open to the public at 5:00 PM. This year's contest theme is Around the Holiday of Kwanza. During the competition, students will participate in a Research/History portion, create Kwanza Inspired Art, as well as learn simple economics & financial literacy. Legendary Monroe Artist Don Cicone will be one of our guest judges helping select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Winners. Students will get the opportunity to sell their art work as the economic education portion of the event. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Free Me Association is a non-profit organization centered around youth and community development in Monroe, LA. Free Me's goal is to provide enriching experiences for youth in the community.
