A Lifetime of Precious Memories

Wille Davis Dozier, Sr, was born on Monday, August 6, 1945, in Newellton, Louisiana. He accepted Christ into his life at an early age and was baptized at Tried Stone Baptist Church, Monroe, Louisiana. Later joining Zion Traveler Baptist Church also in Monroe. Upon moving to Dallas, he united with Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church before moving his membership to Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church, where he remained until his passing. Willie's Elementary education began in Newellton, Louisiana before transferring to Monroe, Louisiana where he completed his education, graduating in 1963 from Carroll Sr. High School. He furthered his education by obtaining a B.A. Degree in Music from The Grambling State University, but not before "Uncle Sam" interceded for 3 years where he served in the United States Army, stationed at Ft. Shafter Army Base in Honolulu, Hawaii as a Radio Message Router. Returning to Monroe, Willie enrolled in Northeast Louisiana University (NLU) now (ULM) Master's Program, majoring in Guidance and Counseling. In 1985, Willie enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserves stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base, Barksdale, Louisiana as a Communications Specialist serving until 1994. Willie's professional career included Income Tax Preparer (self-employed) and Owner/Operator(along with his wife Peggy) of a retail music store, 14 years with South Central Bell telephone company (now AT&T) in Monroe, LA, and 26 years with the Federal Government-Social Security Administration(Beaumont, Longview, and Dallas TX) where he held several positions until his retirement on December 31, 2011. Willie had a passion for Counseling and spent the last 10+ years as a Facilitator with Free at Last at OCBF. He was a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Monroe/Ouachita Chapter of Grambling State University Alumni, and American Legion-F.D. Thompson Post 521 Monroe, Louisiana. Willie went home to be with the Lord on October 22, 2020. He was preceded in death by his adopted parents, Esau and Gertrude Williams-Dozier; his biological parents Willie Dorsey and Marie Nealon Snell, a brother Alonzo Kinsey Jr. Willie left to cherish his memories, his wife of nearly 45 years, Peggy Wiggins-Dozier; 3 children, Ronald Threats Sr, (Shirley); Shayla Dozier-Hutchins (Stevie) and Willie D. Dozier, Jr., 7 grandchildren Tiarra A. Bagley, Jarmayah Launza Hill, Ronald Threats Jr., Stevie A. Hutchins II, Tristan Threats, Sanai A. Hutchins and Gabrielle Martin; 2 great-grandchildren Kameron White and Maliyah Martin; 2 sisters, Pearlie Mae Futch and Deborah Hodges; 6 brothers, Anthony Nealon, Gary Nealon (Jewel), Dan Washington, Wayne Snell, Michael Snell and Stacey Snell; 2 brothers in law, Tyrone Wiggins (Monroe, LA) and Gerald D. Fleece (Marion, IN); an extended family of nieces, nephews and close friends. He never met a stranger. Family and friends bid farewell Saturday November 7, 2020 at Evergreen "Peggy Jo Mayse" Chapel in Dallas TX.
