No Struggle, No Progress

UNITE TO FIGHT CONTINUOUS CRIME

Possibly, the best way for a community to come together to fight crime is to unite to establish means of crime prevention. Help is needed from law enforcement agencies, social services organizations, church leaders and residents. The thought of Neighborhood Watch may sound antiquated, but neighbors need to look out for each other. This is one way of knowing, communicating, and establishing means of watching each other's back. Residents should come together to approach landlords to seek protection for them. Residents can also organize themselves to approach law enforcement as well as social services for counseling and support. Violent crimes have gone up during this pandemic. It appears that the COVID-19 is continuing to rise, and more and more people are paying attention to the virus while criminals are concentrating on illegal activity. Certainly, you want to stay healthy and safe, but you can still observe social distancing , hygiene and wearing masks by engaging as a group to seek organizations to protect families. The new police chief and mayor of the city of Monroe have promised to get down on crime. This is the time for Parkview residents to approach them as an organized group and let them know you are serious about the rampant crime occurring in the neighborhood where you and your family live. Invite them to come and meet with your neighbors and you to let them know the discomfort and the fear you experience each time a robbery or a shooting takes place right in the middle of the apartment complex. It is important that you impress on your landlord and law enforcement that you desperately need to see change which will result in safety measures for everyone. We realize it takes time to get positive results; however, keep your urgency for protection and safety on their minds so they can see you mean business... business to Stop Crime in the Community.
