No Struggle, No Progress
Despite a world pandemic, some colleges and universities across America, including Louisiana schools, are welcoming its students back to campus to begin an in-person semester of learning.
According to a New York Times database, COVID-19 cases have been found on many college campuses across Louisiana. The publications has surveyed more than 1,500 colleges and universities throughout the United States including every four-year public institution, every private college that competes in NCAA sports and others that have identified cases. The infection rates shared are from August 2020 with the note that some universities have only recently reported data for the first time.
As of August 26, 2020, the Times reported the following area universities have the corresponding cases: Grambling State - 10, Louisiana Tech - 25, Southern - 38 University of Louisiana at Monroe - 15. The most cases were found at LSU Health New Orleans (220), which is significantly higher than others, but similar to other medical school cases, mainly in part to its increased exposure.
