No Struggle, No Progress
Hearts are saddened upon the passing of one of God's faithful servants Elaine Clay. Tirelessly, she worked to make others have a better life. She was a servant for people in any capacity. No job was too big or small. Her community service to the city did not go unnoticed. She was everywhere serving from Southpointe Community Center to P.E.E.P. etc. helping box items to serving meals. There was never a job Elaine couldn't perform. Elaine Gilbert Clay was born on December 3, 1951 in Gilbert, Louisiana to Nettie Gilbert. In 1972 she was married to Billy Clay. To this union one son was born, Jeremie Clay. Elaine was a very private person but did what she could for anyone in need. She served on several organizations, some of which were NAACP, Ouachita Parish Library Board, P.E.E.P., and A. L. Brunner Chapter No. 35, Order of Eastern Star, PHA. After retiring from Chase Bank, she continued to work several part-time jobs as she worked at Head Start and lastly at Passman Plaza. Elaine went home to be with the Lord Friday August 21, 2020.
