No Struggle, No Progress
Little Flower Academy in Monroe LA was an interesting and exciting institution of learning. Its meager beginnings began on North18th Street, later moving to South 16th Street in the Newtown Community with an expanded vision. Little Flower was a unique place where Blacks excelled in a nurturing religious environment. The Franciscans invested in Blacks to help them understand the Catholic Religion and education. Their commitment to the Black Community was the evidence of the students who survived in a racial world as the Franciscans proved all wasn't lost during the 1940's -1960's. Little Flower was a place like no other while its legacy and traditions has stood the test of time.
