No Struggle, No Progress

Yet Another

Another innocent black man was shot by the police. On Sunday, August 23, 2020 Jacob Blake, an African-American man, was shot by police as his attempted to enter his car in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Eye-witnesses revealed that Jacob was seen trying to break up a fight between two women. Things then quickly escalated when police officers followed him to his car, and as he tried to get in his car, they opened fire on him. Blake’s three sons, 3-, 5-, and 8-years old, were in the vehicle at the time and witnessed the shooting. Despite being shot seven times, he was taken to the hospital and treated for his gunshot wounds. There it has been reported that his injuries include severe damage to his kidney, liver, colon, and spinal cord. Medical professionals predict that the 29-year-old is paralyzed from the waist down and will likely never walk again. This is yet again, another tragic, horrific event that many blacks feared would happen. Our actual reality is that this happens more often than is reported. Even in our own home state. How are we to move on from the continued mistreatment of innocent blacks at the hands of those who are paid to protect and serve?
