No Struggle, No Progress
(The Confession Poem)
(Psalm 103:14, Proverbs 28:13, Romans 3:23-24)
Lord, you know I wanna be more like you
I wanna be sure that I'm true
I wanna pass all my tests
And, although I am doing my best
I humble myself and confess
That, "I STILL AIN'T THERE YET"
So, I need you to, SHAPE ME
I need you to, BREAK ME
I need you to, MOLD ME
I need you to ,HOLD ME
Because "I STILL AIN'T THERE YET"
Lord, you know I'm not right from within
You know I was born into sin
You know that its in you I trust
You know that I was made from the dust
So,you know I will fall short of your mark
And, do all my dirt in the dark
That's why I need you to, SHAPE ME
I need you to, BREAK ME
I need you to, MOLD ME
I need you to, HOLD ME
Because "I STILL AIN'T THERE YET"
Sometimes I might sin in my thoughts
And, don't always do what you taught
You know I'm ashamed of my deeds
And, that's why I'm down on my knees
Because I wanna be more like you
I wanna be sure that I'm true
I wanna pass all my tests
And, although I am doing my best
I humble myself and confess
That, "I STILL AIN'T THERE YET"
