No Struggle, No Progress

My job was lost, I had problems with the boss,
and it was no fault of my own
The economy dropped, but the bills didn't stop,
so all my savings is gone
My wife is sad, my credit is bad,
so the bank won't give me a loan
I would call for help, from those with wealth,
but my phone has no dial tone
My rent is due, and I don't have a clue,
about how I will keep my home.
My poor children, are wandering in the wilderness,
and can't seem to find the right spot
The strain and stress, is heavy in their chests,
and their stomachs are tied in knots
Are they out or in, will they lose or win,
are they cold or are they hot
Sickness is an enemy, that we fight with home remedies,
when the health insurance is dropped
We struggle and strive, to stay alive,
while the politicians flip and flop.
This fire can't be put out, by putting bottles to my mouth,
that are filled with liquor or wine
This problem can't be solved, by turning to the mob,
or living a life of crime
God said, "After every dark night, if I fight the good fight,
in the morning the sun will shine"
All I can do, is keep my faith in you,
because your word is on the line
Although I've lost my wealth, I am still trusting you for help,
so I don't lose "MY MIND".
