No Struggle, No Progress
Mrs. Florine Lane Brimmer was born August 22, 1939 in Leland, Mississippi to the late David Lane and Cleotha Lewis. She received her final wings at Emory-Decatur Medical Center in Decatur, Georgia on June 10, 2020. She was an active member of the Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. Florine attended Carroll High School in Monroe, Louisiana until her junior year. She relocated and subsequently graduated from Coleman High in Greenville, Mississippi. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Joseph Sims Brimmer, Sr. on July 12, 1960 and moved to Chicago, Illinois. Years later, she pursued her post high school studies at Delta Vocational School, where she earned her Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) degree. She worked in the nursing field for over 20 years. Upon retirement in 1994, Florine relocated back to Monroe to care for her elderly parents. In 2016, she relocated to Lithonia, Georgia where she resided until death. Graveside service were June 18, 2020 at Richwood Memorial Gardens.
