Shootout Neighbors on Edge

No community is immune from hearing or witnessing gun violence. Gun shots are fired in every section of town regardless to social economic status. In the 21st century it has and will become the new normal. Gunfire has no friends or enemies especially when being fired from those without gun training and safety. Gun violence is very dangerous in neighborhoods due to the close proximity of houses and people. Everyone is vulnerable when guns are fired. According to police reports on Monday June 22, numerous calls reported that Suspect Derrick D. Brown Jr. threw a brick at their vehicles in the 900 block of Luther Dr. in Monroe LA. Victims began to confront the suspect when he told his brother to "blow the bit-h head off." Derrick Brown Malech Rucks, Demarion Brown and Shanterrious Anderson produced guns while numerous shots were fired at victims. The victims informed law enforcement the Shanterrious Anderson handed Derrick Brown a firearm, Malech Rucks was in possession of a Draco Assault Rifle and Demarion Brown had a pistol. Victims saw suspects Derrick, Malech and Demarion shoot in their directions. The victims retreated to their vehicles and returned fire. Thank God no one was hit by the gunshots, while there was damage to the victims' vehicle. Numerous, shell casings 24 were spent in the crime scene. 14 shell casing were 7.62 x 39 assault rifle casing. Suspects Derrick Brown, Demarion Brown and Shanterrious Anderson were located and given their Miranda Rights. The suspects told police they were at the scene of the shooting when it happened but ran when shots were fired. Suspect Rucks was located read his Miranda rights but claimed he was never at the scene of the shooting claiming he knew nothing. There were two victims that returned fire at the suspects in self defense and other people in their cars when the shooting began. The suspects were arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder. There are three sides to every story. This was one side of this story.
