Newtown Legend Remembered

Herbert Hugo Riley was born March 10, 1943 and transitioned from this life June 13, 2020. He was a True Newtown Legend and was loved and respected by the entire neighborhood. Herbert attended Little Flower Academy and was a star on the basketball team. He worked and retired from Atoms Energy, where he was a great co-worker according to Council Kenneth Wilson. He leaves to cherish: Mother: Marteal Riley, Wife: Deloris Riley Brother: William (Ruthie) Riley, Sister: Phyllis Benton. four children: Delena (Bobby) Williams, Ursula Newhouse, DeVacques Riley, DeMaine (Tamicka) Riley. Five grands: Stephen II and Delmitria Newhouse, DeMaine II, Darius and Kinnady Riley. Herbert also had a special place in his heart for Romona (Donnie) McClinton and Carnell (Wanda) Johnson, he loved them as if they were his own and so many other that he advise, shared knowledge and guidance. Herbert's famous quote: "Let me ask you something". Drive thru visitation 2:30-4:00 pm, Friday June 19, Smith Funeral Home 907 Winnsboro Road, Monroe, LA 71202. Graveside Memorial Service is Saturday June 20, 2020 at Richwood Memorial Garden 2705 Richwood Road # 2, Monroe, LA.
