No Struggle, No Progress

A Life Beautifully Lived

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. The Williams family mourned the passing of Katrina Nicole Williams, born October 27, 1983, in Monroe, LA. Katrina's name means pure, and aptly so, because she was loved by all who knew her. She was a hard worker who enjoyed every minute of her life traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Katrina was a faithful member of Spring Lake Church of God in Christ, where she accepted Christ at an early age, under the leadership of Woodrow Davis. Her passion was her love for the Lord. She was an active member of the church choir and women's group. Upon moving to Lafayette, Katrina and her family joined Gethsemane Church of God in Christ. After graduating from Grambling High School with the Class of 2001, Katrina received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Grambling State University. Katrina worked in various facets of the nursing field during her career including travel, psychiatric, and labor and delivery. On June 1, 2020, Katrina entered eternal rest in Lafayette, LA. She is preceded in death by her father, Polk Williams Jr., Katrina leaves to mourn, her mother Silvertean Lawhorne Williams and one brother Polk Williams III. Katrina was a devout mother of four children Darius Williams (Dallas, TX), Johnae, Johntrell, and Katori Thomas (Lafayette, LA). She dearly loved her only grandson, 10-month-old Carius Williams, who was the light of her life. She also leaves to mourn Aunts, Alma Britt (Lee), Queen Lawhorne, Tressie Sanders (Mark), Geraldine Lawhorne, Johnny Lawhorne, and Virginia Humphrey (Alex), Benesther Davis, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
