Parkview Apts. Shootings/Protest

Amidst the death of George Floyd by police in Minneapolis Minnesota on Memorial Day May 25, protests toward this injustice have sparked an uproar all over the world and especially in many U.S. Cities. Many protests begin peaceful, later becoming violent. According to police reports, In Monroe LA, Parkview Apartments police were called Monday June 1 to protests where bricks were thrown and officers experienced gunfire. Although the guns were shot in the air, it presented a dangerous environment for law enforcement. Those responsible for the confusion will be arrested according to Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo and Interim Police Chief Reggie Brown. In another unrelated event Tuesday June 2, a shootout occurred between two suspects. According to police reports, police responded to shots being fired at the Parkview Apartments between two individuals. Witnesses told police, two people pulled out guns and began shooting at each other after a verbal altercation. Shots were fired striking vehicles, damaging cars, breaking windows where there were people outside who witnessed the shootings. Bullets were fired with disregard to those out which almost hit several people outside . Police arrested Suspect T.J. Lynch as eyewitnesses identified along with another individual. The suspect was arrested anc charged with six counts of attempted murder, criminal property damage and illegal use of dangerous weapons. There are three sides to every story.
