No Struggle, No Progress
Principal Mrs. Sylvia Brass made her final rounds at Minnie Ruffin Elementary School this May 2020, retiring from a career in education after more than 47 years of service. On Friday, May 22, dozens gathered to celebrate her with a parade to honor her and her final years as principal of Minnie Ruffin Elementary School in Monroe LA. She was hailed as one of the best principals by parents, students and staff. The parade was scheduled since the COVID-19 pandemic has restricted gatherings to celebrate her. After the parade ended, supporters gathered on her front lawn and shared special memories with her using a megaphone. Principal Brass sat on her porch as her supporters and colleagues, showered her with love, flowers, and gifts. Congratulations Mrs. Brass!
