No Struggle, No Progress

Shooting Through Window

Love is never easy. It has always been difficult, especially in youth. Often, young people do things out of impulse without thinking of the severe consequences of their actions. Many let their heart think instead of letting their mind do its job. This sometimes leads to troubles that can result in years lost or in life that will never be found. According to police reports on May 18, police were called to respond to a shooting at Breece Circle in Monroe, LA. The victim heard a knock on her bedroom window, then looking out the window to see her ex-boyfriend and her child's father. The suspect, Jacques D. Lowery, was dressed in all black. Once he saw the victim, he pulled out a black handgun and fired five to six shoots through the window. The victim miraculously managed to duck below the window, avoiding the barrage of gunfire and was not struck. There were two small children in the residence during the shooting. One child was the suspect's, and the victim is currently pregnant. Lowery was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder, domestic abuse, aggravated assault, child endangerment, home invasion, domestic abuse battery, and illegal weapons carry. There are three sides to every story. This was one side of this story. The Monroe Dispatch welcomes another or the other side of this story.
