No Struggle, No Progress
Perhaps, last Friday, May 15, 2020 was the day that many people have been waiting for in order to re-open businesses and other aspects of the state of Louisiana.
With this move comes responsibilities from all parties. Mayor Mayo reminds all citizens that by no means is COVID-19 over and caution is the key as we move into this very first phase of re-opening.
Mayor Mayo has collaborated resources to provide testing throughout the city for as many citizens as possible. Announcements are available informing all of locations and times of the testing. However, the responsibility to take advantage of the COVID-19 testing lies with each individual. It should be important enough to everyone to take care of others as well as self to get tested to protect each other within families and inner social circles.
The Mayor continues to remind and share guidelines for all phases, including Phase One to continue to follow basic instructions below.
CONTINUE TO PRACTICE GOOD HYGIENE
· Wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer, especially after touching frequently used items or surfaces.
· Avoid touching your face.
· Sneeze or cough into a tissue, or inside your elbow.
· Disinfect frequently used items and surfaces as much as possible.
· Strongly consider using face coverings while in public, and particularly when using mass transit.
PEOPLE WHO FEEL SICK SHOULD STAY HOME
· Do not go to work or school.
· Contact and follow the advice of your medical provider.
Indeed, it is the wish of Mayor Mayo that we put our safety first and follow these guidelines. However, even with his system of monitoring, the RESPONSIBILITY to be safe is totally up to the individual… each of US.
