No Struggle, No Progress

Mayor Mayo A Good Leader

During this day and time, we have very visible examples of good and poor leadership. I believe that one of the strongest attributes of a good leader is the ability to know that you don't know everything. A good leader knows that one should act based on the facts, and by placing experts around to share their direction and guidance. A good leader is available and has an open-door policy for everyone regardless of ethnic differences, clicks, clubs, or social-economic affiliation. To me, a good leader will call you back on their off-hours and days. He/she will take the time to speak with you when you call or have an appointment. A good leader genuinely cares about you and your safety. I believe that a good leader will share with you their thoughts and opinions and listen for an understanding of yours with a willingness to modify their views if the need is present. To me, a good leader is one who does not seek leadership to be served but rather to help the people. I can personally attest that I have seen these attributes in the leadership of Mayor Jamie Mayo of Monroe, Louisiana. He continues to provide evidence of his excellent leadership because Jamie Mayo genuinely cares about you.
