No Struggle, No Progress
When the washer or dryer breaks down at home, it is a task washing and drying clothes. Not having the comfort of cleaning clothes at home is a real chore, transporting, cleaning, and transporting again. Those accustomed to washing in public know the grind and where to go to be comfortable. Laundromats are a necessity for some but are a burden to others. According to police reports, Suspect Jackie Brown refused to let four victims enter the Laundry Mat at 1111 Orange St. in Monroe, LA. It is alleged that he chased the victims to the 8th St. Dollar General. When the suspect was inside the Dollar General, he removed the shipping manifest from the store counter then exited the store. Brown then began to chase the victims toward the laundromat, throwing large rocks that the victims thought would hit them. As the victims tried to enter the laundromat, the suspect blocked the door while kicking at the victims. Police officers located Brown on 8th St. and took him into custody despite his refusal to give police his name, address, date of birth, etc. Brown finally gave his social security number but nothing else. He was charged with disturbing the peace, aggravated assault, theft, criminal mischief, and resisting an officer. There are three sides to every story. This was one side of this story. The Monroe Dispatch welcomes another or the other side of this story. You make the news; we only print it!
